Ozzie

Ozzie

This is Ozzie, now 13 years old and happily retired.

Ozzie joined the prison service due to being an unwanted pet. Ozzie’s handler felt sorry for him so agreed to help re-home him and let him live with her until I found his new home. Ozzie’s new owner took him to work at the prison, to see if he’d be any good as a prison search dog. Ozzie ended up being really good at searching and went on to complete his Passive Drug Detection dog course with Flying colours.  Ozzie worked for 5 years at HMP Nottingham until he retired at the age of 7.

Ozzie’s groomer always had a soft spot for him and jumped at the chance to take him on in his retirement. Ozzie now lives on a farm with his little brother Sputnik and he goes to work every day with his new owner. He still sees his handler all the time and will occasionally go for sleepovers with her.

Ozzie really does have the best life.
